The Art of Staying Home
|
Curated by the students of Painting 1A
This site is an exhibition of self curated student work. The work represents each students most successful work in their Painting 1A class at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
The work included in this exhibition was developed during the Covid Pandemic. This class was held remotely. Each student was challenged by painting and learning from their own homes. For some this meant changing scale, working outside, or using unconventional materials. During this time, students moved, worked with siblings or roommates in the room, used their children as painting models, and executed projects through various difficult circumstances. Each student worked hard to overcome this difficult situation to explore the content of the class and to grow as an artist.
This exhibition is a celebration of these students hard work over the semester - they all truly exhibited The Art of Staying Home.
